# Sign up with BitBrokerTrade: create an account and get started

> Create your free BitBrokerTrade account, set up your profile and buy your first credits so the trader can start working for you.

BitBrokerTrade is trader software that follows crypto prices 24 hours a day, 365 days a year and automatically buys and sells based on a preset strategy. All you need to get started is an email address, a password and an account at an exchange. In five steps you set up the complete system.

## What do you need?

Before you start signing up, make sure you have the following on hand:

## Sign up in five steps

The complete process from sign-up to your first automatic trade consists of five steps. Below you find an overview, followed by a detailed explanation of step 1.

    Go to [bitbroker.trade](https://bitbroker.trade/Authentication/Register) and create a free account with your email address and password. After registration you log in and land on the dashboard.

  <Step title="Create an account at an exchange">
    An exchange is a digital currency exchange office where you can buy and sell crypto, like a bank account for cryptocurrencies. Create an account at one of the supported exchanges such as Bitvavo, Binance or Bybit, and deposit euros.

  <Step title="Connect BitBrokerTrade to the exchange">
    Once your exchange account is active and funded, you connect it to BitBrokerTrade through an API key. Through that connection the trader can place orders on your behalf.

  <Step title="Configure the trader">
    Set the parameters for your transactions: which coins, what budget per purchase and which profit target. Then the trader starts analyzing the market.

  <Step title="Start trading">
    The trader now runs fully automatically. Track your results through the dashboard and make sure you have enough credits so the commission can be settled with every profitable sale.

## Step 1: create your account

    Open your browser and navigate to [bitbroker.trade/Authentication/Register](https://bitbroker.trade/Authentication/Register). You see the sign-up form.

  <Step title="Fill in your details">
    Enter your email address and choose a password of at least 8 characters with at least one capital letter and one special character (such as `!`, `@` or `#`).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Confirm your registration">
    After submitting the form, you receive a confirmation email. Click on the link in that email to activate your account.

  <Step title="Log in to the platform">
    Go to [bitbroker.trade](https://bitbroker.trade) and log in with your new credentials. You are redirected to the dashboard.

  <Step title="Buy your first credits">
    Credits are the prepaid balance with which BitBrokerTrade settles its commission. One credit equals € 1. Buy your first credits through the **"Buy credits"** button on the dashboard, so the trader can immediately trade for you once everything is set up.

<Note>
  Participation in BitBrokerTrade is free. You only pay a commission of 20% on the **gross profit** the trader realizes for you, no cure, no pay. That commission is automatically settled with your credits balance.
